We have pushed the distance the last days, but were quite unfortunate going back to the surfing town Puerto Chicama. The road described on the map along the coast was not there, but lucky for us under planning. I hope they think a lot about that planning, because it cost us 30km more.
After completing 95km from a wonderful beach town Pacasmayo, we arrived Chiclayo in the dusk (6:30). We expected another 30min in darkness before we arrived the centre, and decided to stop at a bungalow hostal we passed. The place looked good, and it even had an own garage for our bicycles in the basement. Then we realised what it really was. There was a radio only playing on full volume, plastic sheet on the bed, a multicolored disco ball, leather covered furniture, a biiiig jacuzzi, some strange shaped furniture for nocturnal excersise and a full size mirror in front of the bed. Hmmmmm.... What happens here normally????
We woke up at 03:45 by a construction machine in the next building/inside our wall, and the merry go dround contiuned until the early morning. We have lodged in to a nice little hostal and looked around town. Eirik has been taking it easy while Anita vistited a museum. We head off with a guided tour to see Sican and some other pre-columbian sites tomorrow, before we head up towards Equador before the end of the week.
