We are now ready to leave Cuzco, and start our walk towards Machu Picchu. There were no available room for us on the normal trek before November, and they are apparently not allowed to fill in cancellations. We have shipped of some Christmas presents, and are now reloaded with all the goodies stuff we generally miss when walking (gummi bears, good chocolate, peanut butter and normal butter). We even got a proper map this time.
The bus is leaving at 1400, and we will probably have to skip a ride with another bus tomorrow morning to bring us up to our starting point, Mollapata. The start elevation will be at 2800 meters, and we will climb up to a pass of 4600 meters within a couple of days. Please remember that the hike to Kjerag starts at ca 500 meters..... Our planned route is marked on this map.
Eirik shaved in Cuzco, and is looking like a dork tourist in his hat, and not like Indiana Jones jr anymore.. Hmmfff... The picture below is during the process.
