Summary of first trekking part

Hello everybody! After one week in Bolivias countryside, among fields, hills, mountains, scattered towns and its biggest lake we are again in a city, hungry for food and water (especially me, I could eat everything I see). But what amazing expiriences have we made, seeing such beautifuls landscapes and meeting special people!
It is difficult to put everything in words, I would like best our pictures to speak for themselves(the shop has no card reader so we burned the pics on a dvd just to find out the computer can´t read dvds eather :-(
The light here is unique, dipping everything in wonderful and surreal shades and structures in the evenings and mornings The sky in the night has left us breathless, especially at the camping site overlooking Lago Titicaca. We have aching backs and legs, walking so long with such heavy backpacks is a great challenge to our bodies. After 22 km yesterday (and lots of ups and downs) I could hardly help put up the tent.
We have met many locals and for most we were a very strange sight (where we went, there are NO tourists). Some people came up to us and shoke our hands, curious to talk with us, or waved out of the bus when passing, while others didn´t even reply our greetings. One landowner didn´t want us to camp on his field because he thought we must freeze to death in the night. Not even some dollars could change his (and his wifes) mind. Only many explanations (I want to speak Spanish!) and a look in the tent could finally convince him that he wouldn´t have two corpses to deal with the next morning. He did want the dollars then, though.
Especially my walking sticks have caused many giggles and curious looks. Two women sitting on a field watching their sheep and llamas and weaving colourful textiles the same time (imagine that picture!) pointed asking and laughing at them. I tried to show them that the backpack was so heavy that I would fall backwards otherwards. We had a good time together :-)

But sorry, it is quarter over five now and that means: Time to eat!!!!!
